Glyph Deterioration

There are many concerns with the effectiveness of Inscription as a valid profession as far as income as well as scribe only benefits. Players that dont PvE or PvP have very little reason to ever need a scribe after obtaining their set of glyphs, and most glyphs can even transfer usefullness between pve and pvp making the idea of switching glyphs for the most part a null concept.

What is a glyph really? It’s a piece of paper with a rune written onto it that with the use of a lexicon allows you to transfer that rune onto your person.

What if the glyphs were to have a set duration (say 1month? 2 months? real time not logged in time) of use after being applied to your toon. Due to use and combat, the glyph deteriorates causing a scratch in the rune which makes it lose its power and the effect being lost forcing the user to once again seek out a new glyph inscription.

This would allow inscription extended use deep into the expansion and offer a more solid source of income to players which choose to level it.
