Blizzard poster Bornakk announced a whole batch of hotfixes and updates to issues that cropped up after the launch of Patch 3.3 earlier this evening. A few of the juicier fixes are just below, and you can find the rest behind the cut. Do note that some of these changes will require a server restart to kick in.
Running up the ramp at the end of the 3rd encounter in Halls of Reflection will no longer disconnect players.
Onyxia has settled down and is once again killable and flying in the proper areas during phase 2.
Bosses no longer respawn in the new Frozen Halls 5 player dungeon after being defeated.
Icetouched Earthragers casting Avalanche now deals appropriate damage.
The quest “Keeping the Enemy at Bay” is now completable.

Warning: This video involves some not-safe-for-work imagery. That includes a scantily clad female, as well as more artistic nudity near the end.
In order to really “get” this piece, you’re probably going to need a little back story. First, there’s this wonderful IRC channel where many of the superstars of machinima hang out. It’s a little bit random chat, it’s a little bit artist’s studio, and it’s little bit of a lot of other things.
As the story goes, about two years ago, there was a new kind of project being attempted. A handful of machinima creators decided to collaborate on a new video. The idea was that one person would work on a piece, then pass it off to the next. That person would then add their own segment, and pass it on to another.
As things sometimes happen, the collaboration was never completed. The work seemed lost. Until this past weekend, when Dopefish and Baron Soosdon were able to ferret out the whereabouts of each piece of that collaboration. And then, Dopefish uploaded the video.
This #Machinima Collaboration video includes work from Olibith, Nyhm, UncleTom, tehtaco, Telemora, Dopefish and Baron Soosdon. You

The Colosseum takes us inside the world of the Gladiator (Brutal, Vengeful, Merciless, Furious, and otherwise), to interview some of the top Arena fighters in the battlegroups. Our goal is to bring a better understanding of the strategy, makeup, and work that goes into dueling it out for fame, fortune, and Frostwyrms. We’re especially focused on the people who play these games, to further shed light on the world of the PvP player.
Celestior of Mal’Ganis is the mage member of LOL YOU MAD, the 1st ranked 5v5 team on the Stormstrike battlegroup. His 2v2 team is currently ranked 19th, and his 3v3 team is ranked 56th. This all adds up to a mage that probably knows his PvP-fu.
Celestior was kind enough to talk to The Colosseum about his impression of the current season, as well as what keeps motivating him to play. Check out what he had to say behind the cut.
WoW.com: Who are your teammates right now? What’s the general plan behind your composition? What challenges does your team have? How do you prefer to run your comp?
Celestior: I play with a lot of people for fun, but my main team has been my 5s team. My teammates are Audiolol, Tommylol, Filovirus, and Cprawr.

Today is November 23rd, and that means it’s the fifth anniversary of the release of World of Warcraft. That’s a long time! Especially in the high-risk world of MMOs, where a bad launch can mean your whole game is doomed, or a sudden change in gameplay can make your whole audience rear up on its hind legs at you.
Thankfully, Blizzard has made WoW a living, breathing document, a world that constantly changes and evolves to match its players, which is what makes it so accessible. Throughout dozens of patches, tiers upon tiers of raid bosses, waves of dailies, faction grinds and honor grinds, legendaries and greens, WoW has managed to keep growing and growing along with its subscriber count. And of course, you’ve been there, too. Maybe not for the whole five years like some of us, but everyone’s experienced the game in their own way.
So what about you? How long have you been with the game? What’s your favorite memory of “growing up” in WoW? Will you keep playing for another five years?
Happy anniversary, everybody. Here’s to five more!

My wife was watching the Cataclysm trailer last night on our TV (we’ve discovered the magical ability to stream video directly, it’s all fantastic and magical and don’t stare at me like that I know you all already knew how to do it) and turned to me with that particular look that means “I’m frustrated with something that you have no control over at all but you’re the only one in the room” which, to be fair is a look I get as well from time to time.
Her brow furrowed as the list of upcoming features for Cataclysm scrolled by.Finally, she exhorted me to discover just what had happened to customizable dances. She also forced me to do an imitation of the voice over from the trailer if it were the only way anyone could talk. “I need to go raid the bathroom of unremembered eternity ” I said in my best Chris Metzen as I considered her question. What did happen to customizable dances?
Or Stormwind Vault, for that matter? It’s been in the game files since the game launched, but we’ve never heard a peep out of the place. It looks likely we’ll get to raid Tol’Barad before we set foot inside the Vault. So now

Rumors have been swirling around the Internet this weekend, reporting that the WoW Trading Card Game was ending this year after the release of the upcoming Scourgewar expansion set due to mishandling of marketing by the Upper Deck team. The rumor apparently started at Rawrcast, where it was attributed to a “reliable source”.
Apparently not that reliable! Catching wind of the rumor, Upper Deck responded through its Senior Director, Scott Gaeta, saying that not only was the TCG not “over,” but that it was steaming along right on schedule. Said Gaeta:
“Plans for future sets have been moving along as normal and we even announced a good chunk of the 2010 product schedule a week ago. Just recently the Upper Deck team was at Blizzard to discuss plans for 2011 and just today we were at Blizzard to get a sneak peak of Icecrown Citadel, to help in the development of the 2010 Raid Deck and Treasure Packs. We have lots of great plans for 2010 and beyond and look forward to another great year for the WOW TCG. Thanks for your enthusiasm and support! “
Good enough for me. Interneterati who heard the rumor attributed the TCG’s purported demise to a

Yeah, here at the WoW.com high-rise, we were all a little surprised by the announcement of the Pet Store and its microtransactionalized non-combat pets — but seriously, it’s not that big a deal, people. Hitch your bandwagons to that slippery slope fallacy all you want, but pets offer no plausible in-game advantage. The whole experience is roughly equivalent to buying a TCG pet off of eBay, just slightly more convenient and reasonably easier to live with.
Anyway, of course the forums are mad about it, or at least the incredibly vocal minority on the forums is. And they’ve made post after post about how the Pet Store has completely ruined WoW. Well, official forums MVP Palehoof has a rebuttal, and it’s the largest green wall this side of Fenway Park.
If you want a rundown of just how many times WoW has been “ruined” by an addition, deletion, or alteration to the game, you can read Palehoof’s post on the official forums.

Blizzard’s new Dungeon System (with built-in cross-server LFG) coming in patch 3.3 seems to have all of its bases covered, even tiny niggling details that are not yet covered in the patch notes, as this post by Zarhym proves.
What happens with Stone Keeper’s Shards when you’re in a PUG that takes advantage of cross-server LFG? Well, that’s easy, kiddo. The system will check to see if your home realm’s Wintergrasp is captured by your faction. If it is, voila! Stone Keeper’s Shards for you. If not, well, you can figure it out.
As for everyone else in the group, the same check is made, and if someone else doesn’t have WG captured on their server and you do, they won’t even see the Shards on the corpse, so no “Hey, what about MY shards?!” loot confusion should come up. If it does, well, you’ll probably never see that person again anyway, so say what you must! Just bear in mind that parties in patch 3.3 do have that new Vote Kick option.
